The Evolution of SKC

Stephanie Kloos Donoghue was a magazine editor in New York City, working closely with writers and graphic designers on several health care publications. In the late ‘80s, she had an idea: she’d start a company combining her expertise in design and journalism using state-of-the-art digital design tools. In 1988, S. Kloos Communications (SKC) was born in White Plains, New York. Her first clients were local small businesses and health care publishers, and she quickly expanded her client base through referrals.

With a personal interest in the needs of small businesses and a desire to expand, Stephanie earned a certificate in entrepreneurship from The Entrepreneurial Center Inc. (ECI). She taught marketing at ECI and in the U.S. Small Business Administration’s SCORE program for aspiring and new business owners. Meanwhile, her business continued to flourish, and she used her training to help clients grow and prosper.

In 1991, Stephanie moved her office to Ardsley, New York, and began to build her small team. She has continued to teach aspiring entrepreneurs at Pace University’s Lubin School of Business and often provides guidance to students and clients on startup, marketing and growth strategies.

Today, Stephanie and her team focus on SKC’s mission:

We connect clients to their customers.

We provide useful business-building resources.

We help foster relationships that grow bottom lines.

That’s S. Kloos Communications.
